Col and I were very fortunate to crew for Justin and Sharon Scholz at Coast to Kossie a 240km single stage race. The event starts at the coast in Eden and finishes after summiting Kosciusko a somewhat challenging finish as its Australia’s highest peak and covered in snow/ice…

The crew consisted of Col, Ken, Debbie and myself all of us supporting Sharon and Justin at whatever they needed to get them over the finish line… We too needed to stay awake and alert but we were a great team…had plenty of laughs and enjoyed the moments of a quick power nap in the car during the early hours of the morning…

Must admit those early hours of the morning were cold and the snow was thick up Kosciusko by then it was nothing more than a walk for Justin and Sharon… I carried a backpack up with all the mandatory requirements and gave them food and water along the way…

When they finally did cross that finish line in an incredible time of 33hrs I certainly had a tear in my eye…

It always makes me feel like you can dream as big as you want as yes anything is possible you just have to want it bad enough…. Well done Justin and Sharon.. One day I hope also to be on that start and finish line myself… Sandy
